As of this writing on May 26, 2016, Heather is 16 months out from her brain surgery which took place on January 26, 2015.  Since our last update 4 months ago, many wonderful things have taken place in the life and testimony of our daughter. Heather continues to improve each day physically and cognitively.  She is currently in-between outpatient therapy sessions, until she is re-approved by her insurance, but she has worked hard...

Today, our family is praising the Lord because it has been exactly one year ago when our daughter, Heather, had brain surgery.  This surgery was very invasive and rarely performed in adults. Her entire left side of her brain was removed to stop a disease which causes uncontrollable seizures. She faced many obstacles with this surgery, and has had a long road to recovery, however, you will be able to see by the video we have po...

It has now been close to three months since we last posted an update about Heather on this website.  We have not intentionally neglected to keep others posted about Heather's health and improved success, however, after what seemed to be a loss of time for the first six months of this year, we have sought to care for things that had been neglected.

We Praise The Lord that as of today, October 20, Heather has not had an...

As you can see and read in this update, life has not slowed down for Heather since we last posted.  Tomorrow will mark 6 months since Heather had her last outward seizure and Monday will be 6 months since her left hemispherectomy.  She has done remarkably well, but throughout her recovery and during her months of therapy she has continued to have several types of infections, UTI's, etc, which have hindered her from progressing...

Please forgive us, but we haven't been able to update the web since Heather  has been home from the hospital.  She has been home now for six weeks and is doing remarkably well.  We have continued to receive emails/texts etc. from many of you who have been so patient with us regarding news about her progress. Thank you for your continued interest and prayers.  Please keep them coming!!!...

Hello everyone!!!! No, Heather is not home, yet.  She is still at Siskin with an extended discharge date of May 12th.  We know everyone is anxious for her to get home, and we are as well, however, we have to be able to take care of her once she is home.  Though she is doing great, she still has great needs and the extra time in the rehab center will for certain help strengthen her and make the transition more pleasant for her....

Well, hello everyone!  We have not been able to keep you as updated about Heather's progress as we had been doing, and we apologize about that.  Your prayers for Heather are still very much needed!  She is making progress, but it is slow progress.  As of now, we have a date of discharge planned for the 28th of April.  There are a lot of things that need to take place between now and then before she goes home.  Heather needs to...

Well, She did it!!!! Heather went to Church on Easter Sunday!!!! Praise the Lord, it was a great Sunday at Hillside Baptist Church!  Our Churches shuttle bus was able to pick Heather up for Church on Sunday Morning, as well as three others who are wheelchair bound!!!! Heather was so excited to be back in Church, and wept tears of happiness most of the service.  She told her Dad that the music was beautiful and the pr...

Things are going well! We can't complain!!!!  Heather is making little gains each day!  Every muscle in her body was so weak from the effects of her disease and from being immobile for years.  So, the therapists are really focusing on building her upper body strength as well as getting her to stand on her own. She has come a long way since the surgery on January 26th, and still has a long way to go, but we are getting there....
