Monday Update at 9:30 pm CT

First thing this morning Heather went to therapy. She was able to stand today 2x at the Parallel Support bars, but with the assistance of 3 people, 2 on each side of her and one in the back. It was very difficult for her because she is continuing to hurt with the hypersensitivity that she has had since surgery, but the more movement and exercise she has, the more the sensitivity will hopefully dissolve. Heather is very determined to get better and get that right arm and leg to work. She has had some emotional moments as my mom has previously stated in previous posts. She gets so overwhelmed at times, because she wants so badly for her body to work the way it should, and she tries so hard to complete each task correctly. She was also able to use a Recumbent bike that helps exercise the entire leg. Heather was able to initiate most of the rotating motions of the pedals, but still needed some assistance of the machine. I sent a picture (the picture posted below) to my parents who are taking a day to rest, because of extreme exhaustion from our now 30 day hospital stay. They were so excited to see that Heather was doing well in therapy and my mom asked me to tell Heather that, she was so proud of her. So... I did. Heather started crying and told the nurse "my mom is so proud of me”! She then said, God has been so good to me. Needless to say, I was crying and the Therapist sat there beside us tearing up as well. Just trying to process just how good God is and has been, gets very overwhelming. If you know Heather, you know she is kind of a picky eater when it comes to food. Peanut Butter and Jelly, Chicken and Salad are pretty much on her favorite menu. She doesn’t care much for hospital food, but it has caused her to venture out some and try new things. This afternoon, she had Spinach, a meat, and potatoes. This did not sound appealing to her whatsoever, so, she looked at her food, then looked at my Pizza Hut "Personal Pan Pizza”, and I could see her mouth watering…I said, what? She cracked a smile and said that looks good! And the next thing I knew she was eating MY PIZZA!!! HAHA Please keep praying that the sensitivity will subside and that she will continue to get stronger and stronger each day! Thank you all so much for every kind word and gesture you have put forth to encourage my family and especially Heather!!! God is too good!

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Here's the evidence folks!
