Monday Update 10:00 pm CT

Things have gone well, and Heather has had another good day of being awake most of the day. Please pray that she can pass the swallow test tomorrow in regards to liquids, especially water. If she doesn't pass the swallow test soon a decision will need to be made about putting PEG tube in her abdomen. Could you also pray that her voice returns soon. She has been extremely quiet since she had the breathing tube removed one week ago. It takes a lot of effort for her just to get a whisper out, which we pray is what is contributing to her quietness.

Heather has had a great time with visitors today. Her CNA - care giver from Chattanooga, Miss Jill showed up this morning and surprised her and stayed most of the day! Tonight, her 2nd cousin Jason & Cathy Settle, from Pleasant View, TN and their family came for a visit. All of us gathered around the bed and sang a few songs together. It was a very special time and a great uplift for Heather!!!!! The Settle kids have been praying at their Church and Christian school and were excited to be able to go back tomorrow and tell how they were able to visit with Heather tonight.

Many people have continued to contact us through the website through e-mails and comments, as well as texts and phone calls. Today she received cards in the mail from Georgia, Tennessee, Illinois and Texas. She also received a little red convertible doodle bug in the mail that she absolutely loved!!!! She is now looking for the "mail lady" at the hospital every morning!!!! Thank you again for all of your love and prayers for Heather.

"It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night," Psalm 92: 1 & 2
