Tuesday Update 7:00 pm
"Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our
affliction and distress by your faith:" 1 Thessalonians 3:7
Heather has had a really good day. We are so sorry that we are just now posting, but it has been a busy day. We know that some of you have been concerned that something was wrong, but everything is fine. Heather has had a lot more awake time, and we have just enjoyed being together, and hearing her talk and watching her interact with her doctors and nurses. Her voice is still that of a whisper, but she is communicating extremely well. We still have issues with a fever and electrolytes, as well as paralysis on the right side. The plan for tomorrow is to have Physical Therapy come and make an assessment and plan of care. She will also be having a swallow test, so maybe she can eat some real food soon. This will make her very happy because the nurse asked her if there was anything she needed and Heather thought a second and then asked, "Do you have any snacks?" Her Dad asked her today what was missing on her right hand and she looked down and noticed that the magnet she had been using to swipe her stimulator to control seizures was missing. She said "my magnet" and he said, "yes", and "she said she had been praying for 9 days that her seizures would stop and they have." It has now been 10 days since Heather had her last seizure. It was on Friday, Jan 23 at 6:52 am, three days prior to her surgery. When Bro. Cape told Heather that it had been 10 days, she started crying and said, "The Lord sure is Good!" Yes, He Sure Is Good! The Goodness of our God is Overwhelming! He is Good All The Time!
Bro. Cape said, "Please help us continue to pray not only for Heather, but also for Heather's medical team, Doctors, Nursing Staff, Techs, etc. As in every case in the past, Heather's life and testimony has been ministering to many. However, I don't ever remember seeing as many tears falling from medical professionals before. Please pray, that we will help to meet the needs of those we come in contact with, by pointing them to our Saviour. He truly makes No Mistakes!"
She will still be in the hospital for a while, in the ICU for several more days at least and when she is able, she will be transferred out to a Rehab facility in Chattanooga, TN. We will probably be posting only once daily in the afternoon unless something significant takes place. Thank you for your support, your prayers and all your contacts! Please keep them coming!
