Sunday Evening Update at 6:50 pm CT
Heather has had a pretty good day today. She has been sitting up in a reclined position in a neuro chair all day. She has slept most of the day and hasn't responded as much as she had been doing. Dr. Neimat's partner came in to see us. He also performs this same kind of surgery. He said that this surgery is the most serious surgery that they do on the brain. He said to expect 7-10 bad days before we see real improvement. He also said he felt like she has reached her lowest day and should be on her way back up, but we could still see a few more bad days. All tests for infection for the fever still remain negative, which is great news. They increased the steroid medication in case there was extra swelling that is contributing to sleeping so much, but a constant fever can keep a person sleepy also.
Dr. Neimat wasn't working today, but he stopped by for a minute and brought his little 7 year old daughter with him. It was nice to get to meet her, and Heather was aware that they were here! Well, tomorrow will be one week out from the surgery. We are praying for a turn around on day 7 as this number stands for God's completeness and His perfection.
Proverbs 3: 5 - 8
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones."
